We're working together with our community to ensure Victor Harbor is ready for Fire Danger Season. 🤝 Our Fire Prevention Officers are currently conducting their annual inspection of more than 10,000 properties to assess fire danger risks. While it's up to each individual property owner to ensure they have cleaned up their yards and reduced the risk of fire spreading through their land, we're supporting community members wherever we can. 🤔 Not sure what you need to do ahead of Fire Danger Season? Visit www.victor.sa.gov.au/fire (or your local Council's website) to learn more about your fire prevention responsibilities.

Let's take a moment to celebrate the seniors in our community for South Australia's #WeekofAgeingWell... ❤️✨ Here in the City of Victor Harbor, seniors have contributed to our region through decades of hard work, volunteering, caregiving and leadership. While the number of young families in our council area continues to grow, we must acknowledge that it's our older generations who laid the foundations of our highly livable coastal city. Thank you to our wise, generous and resilient seniors! 🧓🌍💪 We're extremely proud of the services and programs provided by Council to ensure seniors can embrace ageing with dignity and joy. 🚀 Leading Victor Harbor Into the Future: A Strategy for Sustainable Growth I am proud to announce a landmark achievement for the City of Victor Harbor – the adoption of our Urban Growth Management Strategy 2050 (UGMS). This is not just a policy milestone; it is a testament to the power of vision, strategy, and collaboration. I am extremely proud of our exceptional team for turning this vision into reality. Our Council Members have shown steadfast leadership, our staff have demonstrated unwavering passion for Victor Harbor’s future, our partners continue to see the potential of our city, and our community’s engagement has been invaluable. Together, we have shaped a strategy that will guide Victor Harbor’s growth with integrity, foresight, and respect for our unique coastal character. The UGMS is the result of significant investigations, strategic planning, and genuine partnership. We listened to our community, collaborated with leading experts, and ensured every decision was evidence-based and future-focused. This strategy positions Victor Harbor as a proactive leader in sustainable urban growth. We’re not just responding to change, we’re shaping it. As we move forward, the UGMS will be a key tool for Council to engage confidently with the State Government and play an active role in the Greater Adelaide Regional Plan, and its rollout in our area. Thank you to our staff, Council Members, partners, and every community member who contributed their insights. This achievement belongs to all of us! Well done to Toni, Stacey, Gaurav and Jo who represented City of Victor Harbor in the LG Professionals SA Rural Management Challenge earlier this month. 💪✨ 'Shore Victory' competed against eight other teams from regional councils. It was a busy day as participants tackled a wide range of tasks simulating real challenges that local government leadership may face. Every participant was required to step far outside their comfort zone and undertake work that wouldn't typically be part of their usual roles. We are extremely proud of our team's efforts and commitment to furthering their professional development. 👏😊
