Tempted by all the sales emails you've been receiving? Before you hit checkout on that cart, add an extra layer of protection by enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA) for online purchases on your bank accounts. Multi-factor authentication can help prevent unauthorised access to your digital banking, even if someone has gotten their hands on your password. Visit your bank's website or contact them directly to find out how to enable multi-factor authentication and shop safely across Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The tenth Digital NSW Showcase was a huge success this week. The headline story was confirmation NSW will introduce Australia's first Digital Birth Certificate next year. Launching in 2026, with an initial release planned for people aged 16 to 21, the Digital Birth Certificate will be available securely via the Service NSW app, making it easy to locate and use, whenever and wherever you need it.

NSW customers looking to get their Christmas shopping done early this Black Friday and Cyber Monday are reminded scams come in many different disguises. Black Friday and Cyber Monday are some of the busiest shopping days and can be a hunting ground for online criminals looking to steal personal information and money. Some tips for shoppers include: ➡️If the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is ➡️Ensure websites begin with ‘https://’ and show a locked padlock symbol ➡️Check the company contact details and return policy ➡️Use secure payment methods only ➡️Limit the amount of personal information you provide ➡️Check reviews through a search engine or external review website Shoppers should be wary of fake online stores created to impersonate existing and well-known brands. These deceptive websites offer significantly lower sale prices but never deliver what is paid for.
