About us

North Sydney Council is located on Sydney's lower North Shore near the bustling North Sydney CBD and surrounded by beautiful Sydney Harbour. The North Sydney local government area encompasses some of Sydney’s most picturesque parks, thriving village centres, commercial areas and education precincts. Each day we look after more than 70,000 residents as well as the tens of thousands of people who visit North Sydney for work or education. Our strategy lead, delivery focussed culture provides our employees with the opportunity to develop their skills within a friendly work environment which encourages work/life balance. We are dedicated to providing the best services and facilities to our community and to continue to make North Sydney a great place to live, work and play. Our social media channels help us inform, educate, and connect with our community. We do this by highlighting information about the initiatives, programs, and services we deliver for our community and welcome open and respectful community discussion. Our platforms are monitored intermittently on weekdays 9am – 5pm, during the Council’s business hours. While we do our best to respond to enquiries, some matters require detailed responses from specific Council teams.
