A big moment for SANE and an even bigger moment for digital mental health in Australia.   We’re proud to celebrate our CEO Rachel Green, awarded the Leadership Excellence Award for Australia by eMental Health International Collaborative (eMHIC).   Rachel was recognised for championing a more inclusive, connected future for mental health support, leading the development of Australia’s first digital psychosocial recovery platform, which now reaches over 200,000 people annually.   Her focus on lived experience, co-design and digital inclusion was seen as the benchmark for what meaningful, person-centred support can look like. Congratulations, Rachel, and thank you for driving change that matters.

This International Men’s Day, we’re proud to launch the next phase of our Better Off With You campaign – backed by the support of NRL greats Braith Anasta and Kieran Foran. Sadly, both Braith and Kieran’s lives have been personally impacted by suicide. They’re lending their voices to help break down stigma and encourage more open conversations about mental health among men, because speaking up can save lives. About the Campaign: Better Off With You is an evidence-informed suicide prevention initiative that helps men recognise warning signs in themselves and their mates and take meaningful steps toward support. Funded by the NSW Government, this latest campaign features powerful stories from four men who’ve navigated mental health crises and found a path forward. A huge thank you to all of the men who joined this campaign for your courage and leadership and to NSW Health for their support for this project. 📰 Learn more about Braith and Kieran’s stories: https://lnkd.in/gTuYHj7C 🎥 Explore the campaign videos and resources: https://lnkd.in/gCsrygkA Support is always available:  📞 Lifeline: 13 11 14 📞 Suicide Call Back Service: 1300 659 467 📞 13YARN: 13 92 76 (for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander support) #BetterOffWithYou #InternationalMensDay #MentalHealthAwareness #SuicidePrevention #MensMentalHealth #SANEAustralia #LivedExperience #BreakTheStigma

We’re excited to announce that we have officially welcomed Griefline into SANE – bringing together two purpose-driven organisations led by compassion, lived experience and a commitment to better mental health outcomes. Global research shows that up to one in five people experience significant impacts on their mental and physical health following the death of a loved one. This merger brings Griefline’s seasoned expertise in grief, loss and bereavement support in-house, complementing our sector-leading digital psychosocial services. The merger will strengthen our ability to support even more people who are navigating grief as part of their mental health journey, ensuring Australians can continue to receive the care they need, when they need it most. As SANE CEO Rachel Green said: “By welcoming Griefline into SANE, we gain deeper expertise in grief, loss, and bereavement – enhancing our ability to support Australians affected by complex mental health challenges. “This merger also opens up a more seamless referral pathway for people navigating loss to help them access broader mental health support. SANE’s investment in innovative digital programs will also allow us to explore future opportunities to scale grief support in Australia.” Griefline’s Helpline, counselling and community programs will continue unchanged. 👉Learn more about the merger: https://lnkd.in/gwg3sBgB 👉 Griefline’s Helpline is available on 1300 845 745 #SANEAustralia #Griefline #GreaterTogether #MentalHealthSupport #GriefSupport #Merger

We’re excited to announce a new strategic partnership with TAL Australia to expand access to recovery-focused digital mental health services across Australia. This new partnership offers a new platform for us to translate the collective intelligence of the complex mental health community at an even greater scale, tapping into TAL’s national reach.  We’re launching the partnership with two exciting initiatives: 1. A 20-week peer recovery pilot program for eligible super fund members living with complex mental health conditions – delivered by our peer workers and including access to one-to-one support, groups and connection to a recovery community. 2. A three-year strategic agreement to fund our digital innovations for vulnerable Australians who have experienced mental health distress – who have historically been underserved by the mental health system. Together, we can co-create innovative solutions that amplify lived experience, bridge gaps in the mental health care system and support recovery for all – no matter where someone is based. We’re proud to share that SANE’s redesigned Recovery Community has been awarded Gold at the 2025 Good Design Australia Awards! 🥇     Since launching in 2014, SANE Forums have been a safe space for Australians living with complex mental health needs - a place to connect, share, and find support. 🧠 Why hasn’t schizophrenia had its ADHD moment? This Mental Health Month, SANE has handed the microphone over to our community, giving them the opportunity to share their lived experiences in their own words. One those who has stepped up to the mic this month is SANE Co-founder and Patron Dr Marg Leggatt AM. Marg is a community mental health worker, a researcher and most importantly, a proud and vocal advocate for the rights of individuals and families living with complex mental health needs. She’s pioneered programs that challenge stigma, improve health outcomes and elevate lived experience voices in mental health reform across the country. The work that she started at SANE back in the 1980’s has driven dramatic improvements in how we understand and accept mental ill health across our community. But as Marg outlines in her new book and accompanying opinion piece published today to recognise Mental Health Month, conditions like anxiety and ADHD are now part of everyday conversations but schizophrenia remains in the shadows. Living with Schizophrenia brings together the voices of individuals and families who have lived through the challenges and triumphs of schizophrenia. It contains stories that are raw, real, and long overdue to be heard, and it’s a powerful reminder that behind every diagnostic label is a person with hopes, talents, and a right to be seen. This October, we encourage everyone to challenge their perceptions and proactively call out stigma when you see it. Join us as we keep pushing for a world where no one is defined by their diagnosis. Read Marg’s powerful opinion piece here https://lnkd.in/gFEJVXeB Living with Schizophrenia (Monash University Publishing) is available for purchase here https://lnkd.in/guZDg2f2 #MentalHealthMonth #SchizophreniaAwareness #EndStigma #LivedExperienceLeadership #SANEAustralia #MentalHealthEquity #PeerVoices
