Welcoming some very special visitors to Council! Children from our Fauna Place Kirrawee centre stopped by to present their book on child safety, a beautiful project filled with their thoughts on what makes them feel safe at the centre, at home, and in the community. Their voices are powerful reminders of the role we all play in keeping children and young people safe. Shorebirds are on the move 🐦 During summer, our resident shorebirds nest and raise their young. Migratory birds feed and rest to prepare for their journey back to their breeding grounds. To give our shorebirds a chance, we need to learn how to share our coastal space. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/gkbtXbJz Image credit: Te Ara – The Encyclopaedia of New Zealand.
