Celebrating the Launch of Sabores Bio in Bogotá with FOLU Colombia! The third Sabores Bio launch—following Cali and Medellín—brought together over 50 participants, including journalists, academia, embassies, partners, and industry associations. Hosted at Salvo Patria, the event highlighted restaurants that are transforming food systems through their kitchens and territories, inspiring behavior change from the heart of Colombian cuisine. Sabores Bio encourages people to explore, value, and cook with biodiversity—bringing it to the table with a conscious and curious lens. Guests reconnected with Colombia’s biodiversity, learned about ingredient origins, and discovered creative ways to prepare them for healthier diets. The experience showcased cooking as a platform for learning, creativity, and cultural transformation. Extraordinary dishes were prepared by restaurants already part of the platform: Salvo Patria , Afluente, Oriente, Río, Nueve, Mini Mal, Oda, Chamán, Mestizo, Café Amor Perfecto, and Quinua y Amaranto. Sabores Bio continues to strengthen a network of restaurants, producers, and diners committed to responsible sourcing, healthy cuisine, and reducing food waste. How can companies accelerate the transformation of agri-food value chains to ensure resilience, competitive advantage, and regenerative outcomes? In this video, Kate Newbury-Hyde (Senior Manager, Ag & Food) from WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development highlights how Re‑WIRE provides a crucial framework—particularly in linking production and consumption systems, and strengthening collaboration across the Brazil–China soy and beef value chains. She emphasizes on the growing momentum within the private sector, while sharing the need for deeper public–private partnerships and coordinated action across entire value chains. We invite business leaders, policymakers, funders, civil society and producer organizations to join a public consultation webinar to discuss the report’s findings and explore how they apply across sectors and regions. What you can expect: A dynamic panel discussion + live Q&A featuring voices across geographies and sectors — including stakeholders from agriculture, sustainability, trade and food companies. Collaboration is key to driving transformation—this stakeholder forum held in Addis Ababa marks a major step where FOLU Ethiopia - Food and Land Use Coalition joined key partners and the Ministry of Agriculture to refine Ethiopia’s Draft Regenerative Agriculture Strategy—a blueprint that will secure food, build resilience, and empower communities.
Established in 2017, FOLU is a community of organizations and individuals committed to the urgent need to transform the way we produce and consume food and use our land for people, nature and climate.
💡We were thrilled to be in the room with key local and international organizations discussing a strategy that is so vital for the nation's agricultural transformation. The Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with FOLU, Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA), Stichting Wageningen Research Ethiopia (SWR Ethiopia) and other partners, held a crucial Stakeholder Consultation Forum today to dive deep into the Draft National Regenerative Agriculture Strategy for Ethiopia. 🌱 Why This Strategy Matters: This isn't just about farming; it's about securing the future. This strategy is set to play a pivotal role in: 👉 Promoting sustainable agricultural development. 👉 Boosting productivity and enhancing output. 👉 Building stronger resilience to climate change. 👉 Ensuring national food and nutrition security. The goal of today's forum, held at the Ellily International Hotel in Addis Ababa, is to gather valuable, on-the-ground feedback and recommendations from everyone involved, and make sure this Strategy is practical, inclusive, and truly reflects Ethiopia's national development priorities. Every perspective counts as we work together to enrich this national strategy! #RegenerativeAgriculture #Ethiopia #SustainableFarming #FoodSecurity #ClimateAction #Collaboration

Feike’s call to action sits at the heart of RAIZ, the Resilient Agriculture Investment for net-Zero land degradation accelerator will assist participating countries to unlock and strategically allocate public and private investment for the restoration of degraded agricultural land at scale. The technical assistance provided by RAIZ will help countries to: ✅Map degraded landscapes to prioritize areas for investment. ✅Identify investable restoration solutions and assess the financing needs. ✅Design optimal co-investment mechanisms and scale proven solutions. ✅Foster collaboration and knowledge exchange within the ecosystem. RAIZ is a step forward in scaling climate-resilient agrifood systems through innovative finance and partnerships. In this recap from COP30 last week, Alessia Mortara (Director of International Policy Engagement, FOLU) speaks with Andrea Meza (Deputy Executive Secretary, UNCCD) about how the UN Convention to Combat Desertification G20 Global Land Initiative (GLI) has and will be shaping RAIZ and the future of global land restoration. Andrea highlights how the G20 GLI’s global land map—provides the scientific backbone RAIZ needs: a clear baseline of land degradation, a way to triage priority areas, and a tool to help countries understand where to act and how to scale solutions. She stresses that UNCCD’s role goes far beyond mapping. As custodians of the global land agenda, UNCCD brings political leadership, convening power, and alignment with Land Degradation Neutrality goals. This partnership is a powerful step toward turning high-level commitments into country-led, finance-ready restoration pipelines. RAIZ—launched at COP30—aims to help countries map degraded farmland, develop investable restoration packages, and co-design public–private finance solutions to unlock the multibillion-dollar gap in restoration funding. “Restoring farmland requires businesses and governments to work together......” – Diane Holdorf, WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development The launch of RAIZ at COP30 this week marks a pivotal moment, garnering support from 10 countries. RAIZ (Resilient Agriculture Investment for Net-Zero Land Degradation)— will bring together countries, investors, innovators, and farmers to turn degraded lands into productive, resilient and regenerative landscapes where both people and nature can thrive. As an international partner of FOLU, WBCSD brings critical private-sector leadership to RAIZ— building on their lessons from Landscape Accelerator Brazil (LAB) and Action Agenda on Regenerative Landscapes (AARL), through which more than 40 organizations reported $9B+ in committed investment, covering more than 210 million hectares of land, reaching 12 million farmers across 90+ commodities and 110+ countries by 2030. On the final day of COP30, Eduardo Bastos reminds us of something easy to forget amid the delays of global negotiations: this moment is about implementation, not just intention. From the Amazon-frontline perspective to the urgent need for the private sector to collaborate, COP30 has made one thing clear: climate progress only matters if it shows up in the real world. That’s why initiatives like RAIZ matter — creating pathways for public-private partnerships to unlock finance for farmland restoration and resilient agriculture. Because delivering on climate and nature goals requires collaboration that turns ambition into action. The Amazon wasn’t just a backdrop this year; it was a powerful reminder that both climate change and climate action are lived experiences.
