Yesterday, we welcomed Anthony Cianflone MP for a tour of our Smile Squad examination room and treatment van, currently based at Coburg West Primary School. Our Smile Squad delivers free dental care in state schools in Merri-bek and beyond. From March, Merri Health and Banyule Community Health are becoming Holstep Health🎉. Whilst our name is changing, clients can expect the same expert care and services, at the same locations they enjoy now. By joining forces, we’re uniting 120 services, 700 staff, and 150 volunteers under a new senior leadership team—creating more opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and better health outcomes. Sunday was such a special day at the Share the Spirit festival! For the second year in a row, Carer Gateway was part of Victoria’s biggest First Nations festival, this time at Treasury Gardens, and it was absolutely amazing. We loved connecting with families and watching kids get creative with our painting, badge-making, and basket weaving activities. The festivals energy was truly something special, with a traditional smoking ceremony and great live music bringing everyone together in celebration of culture, community, and connection. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our activities and helped make the day unforgettable! Share the Spirit is one of our favourite events, and we can’t wait to be back next year! Let’s continue celebrating culture and yarning about the support available for First Nations carers. See you all again next year!
