We are absolutely energised by the incredible support shown at MAPP’s End-of-Year Event, Elevating an Industry Together. We unveiled early findings from MAPP’s Benchmarking Pilot Survey with Aaron Chen. These insights offer an important snapshot of cultural diversity across the industry, paving the way to complete the next two stages. Keep an eye out at our socials in the coming weeks. This was followed by the panel discussion, facilitated by Zamaneh Khoshdel, along side our panellists Nicole Battley from the Property Council of Australia, Niall Cunningham GAICD from Development Victoria, and Sonja Syre from Denton Corker Marshall. They explored how leadership, using benchmarking, and advocacy can drive real progress in equality in multicultural leadership and opportunities across the Built Environment Industry. Key takeaways included: 💬 Diversity exists — Leaders must create space for different communication and leadership styles to flourish. 💬 Mentorship helps you grow. Sponsorship gives you visibility. We’re thrilled to introduce our third panelist for our "Elevating an Industry" event - Niall Cunningham Niall is the Executive General Manager, Precincts at Development Victoria and has worked in various property related senior executive roles in the private and public sectors, both nationally and internationally. He has over 25 years of experience in property development projects with particular expertise in precinct scale development. His expertise includes working with stakeholders and communities in the planning and delivery of complex urban regeneration projects that deliver community focused outcomes in keeping with Government Policy. Sonja completed her architectural studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Münster, Germany in 1998, gaining a strong foundation in documentation and construction detailing. After moving to Melbourne in 2004, her work expanded to design, documentation, and contract administration across educational projects. Since joining Denton Corker Marshall in 2008, she has focused on research, education, and healthcare projects, applying her organisational and process improvement skills to deliver major tertiary projects in Victoria and NSW.
