Our Morgan Park Commons project has officially received approval from the Chicago Plan Commission, advancing a transformative community vision at 115th and Halsted.   Led by Far South Community Development Corporation and designed in partnership with LJC, the first phase will deliver 70 new homes within a mixed-use development, with 244 units planned across the 12-acre site.   As a transit-served development, it will reconnect the neighborhood with new housing, enhanced mobility choices, direct access to the Major Taylor Trail, and renewed investment along a historically underutilized corridor.   We’re proud to partner with Preservation of Affordable Housing, DL3 Realty, and Applegate & Thorne-Thomsen, P.C.   Read more about it here: https://lnkd.in/gFF6UxqC

After more than four years of collaboration, we're thrilled to celebrate the grand opening of BandWith Chicago’s new home. A vibrant adaptive reuse project that transforms a former casket factory into a dynamic hub for arts education and community connection. The new facility includes instructional spaces for Band, Drum Line, Dance, and Vocal Rehearsal, a professional-grade recording studio, and a dedicated Music Library that houses BandWith’s extensive collection of music in all formats. At the heart of the building, a light-filled community room sits beneath a restored skylight roof, creating a welcoming gathering space for all. We're proud to support BandWith’s mission of empowering youth through music and to help bring their vision to life in a space that reflects their passion, purpose, and promise. Transforming Market Street, One Connection at a Time. The Great Rivers Greenway Brickline Greenway is moving forward with a new east–west link from Harris-Stowe State University to the City Foundry STL, designed to create a safer and more welcoming corridor for everyone. This phase introduces a shared-use path with separated pedestrian and bike lanes, public art, native plantings, and improved lighting, with each element working together to enhance connectivity, honor local history, and bring people together across neighborhoods. As part of the team shaping this vision, we’re proud to support a project that centers on inclusion, mobility, and meaningful placemaking for St. Louis. 🔗 Read more via the St. Louis Business Journal: https://lnkd.in/g5M_DJm6

This week, we were excited to host St. Louis NOMA architecture students at our St. Louis Russell Burns Clayco home office. Our team shared current project work, answered thoughtful questions, and guided an office tour showcasing the collaborative energy and design innovation that defines our space. We're always excited to connect with the next generation of designers—thank you to NOMA for visiting! #LJC #DesignCollaboration #FutureArchitects #NOMA #Architecture #Mentorship #Clayco

Rebuilding Hope After the Wildfires. Our LJC & Clayco team recently partnered with San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity to support wildfire recovery efforts in Altadena, helping build safe, affordable homes for families impacted by the devastating fires. It was a meaningful day of service that reminded us why we do what we do and getting out into the communities we work in to help those in need. Design has the power to restore, reconnect, and rebuild, and we’re proud to stand alongside organizations creating lasting change in our communities.

Our team had an inspiring week at the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Fall Meeting in San Francisco, engaging with peers and industry leaders on the future of cities, communities, and the built environment. From welcoming young leaders from across the globe and leading conversations on the value and impact of YLG across the Americas, to connecting with partners during sessions, receptions, and leadership roundtables, the week sparked thoughtful dialogue and new ideas. Engaging at this level with ULI provides meaningful exposure to national best practices, emerging trends, and innovative approaches that are shaping the future of the CRE and land use industries. We return energized by the exchange of ideas, the shared passion for collaboration, and the continued pursuit of more resilient, equitable, and forward-thinking communities. #ULIFallMeeting #UrbanLandInstitute  #DesigningForTomorrow #ResilientCities #EquitableDevelopment
