For years, public opinion research has required trade-offs: ⚖️ depth or breadth ⚖️ stories or statistics Today, we’re sharing how Jigsaw and the Napolitan Institute bridged those gaps during the We the People pilot. Over the last few weeks, over 2,400 Americans from across all 435 congressional districts had a conversation, in their own words, on freedom & equality. They shared stories of generations before them, challenges they’re facing today, and so much more. In the report, you’ll find 10,000 views and one shared goal: understanding each other. One clear learning is that people crave the opportunity to speak and feel heard. A typical participant spent over an hour sharing their views and engaging with those of others. On top of that, we found that: 🗣️ 94% of participants felt their opinion was represented in the conversation 🗣️ The number of participants who felt heard by other Americans jumped from 40% to 68% after the conversation Instead of reducing 1.6 million words into a TL;DR, we built a process that preserves the whole conversation. You can explore it all today (and see how your own opinions compare to those who participated) 👉 👉 https://lnkd.in/eEsFm32j. Don’t forget to come back and let us know what most surprises you! ⬇️
