  • Europe’s future will be decided in its cities. Copenhagen shows what’s possible when long-term planning, partnerships, and human-centred design come together. In just a few decades, the city went from economic decline to becoming one of the world’s most liveable and climate-ready places. The Copenhagen Way by Ramboll, BLOXHUB and Urban Partners, shares six principles behind this transformation. These ideas are practical, transferable, and grounded in one belief: resilience is built when we treat cities as connected systems, not isolated projects. Some of the themes explored include: 🏢 Turning integrated planning into real outcomes 💰 Aligning finance with shared value 🌍 Designing with culture, identity, and community at the core 🤝 Using collaboration as the engine for change This is not about copying Copenhagen. It’s about learning from a mindset that helps cities respond, adapt, and thrive, socially, environmentally, and economically. If Europe is to stay liveable and competitive, we must invest in cities that create opportunities, strengthen nature, and support everyone who calls them home. Read the article to explore how (link in the comments). #CopenhagenWay #ResilientCities #UrbanDevelopment

COP30 made it clear that resilience is at the centre of the global climate agenda.🪸🌍   From the C40 Cities' World Mayors Summit to the COP30 Brazil summit, our time in Brazil underscored how cities, partners and businesses are working to build systems that protect people, strengthen nature and deliver long-term value for communities.   At the World Mayors Summit, in Rio, Ramboll and the Rambøll Fonden / Ramboll Foundation joined more than 2,000 stakeholders and 300 mayors to accelerate climate action where it matters most in cities.   In Belém, UN Environment Programme and the COP30 Brazil Presidency launched the Beat the Heat initiative, where Ramboll is partnering to bring a new digital tool to cities. The tool enables them to: 🌊 Analyse flooding and heat impacts together in one model 🌍 Build stronger business cases to attract investment into nature-based solutions   At COP30, our experts Ask T. H. Brüel, Signe Kongebro, and Thomas Frøyland, worked with businesses, civil society and public authorities on pathways to modernise energy grids, scale green fuels, and build resilient infrastructure for a secure, affordable and just transition.   #COP30 #BeatTheHeat #UNEP #ClimateAction #UrbanResilience #LetsCloseTheGap

Extreme heat is a fast-growing climate risks for cities. At COP30 in Belém, we were proud to join the Beat the Heat initiative, led by UN Environment Programme and the COP30 Presidency, where Ramboll introduced a new digital tool that helps cities: 🌊 Analyse flooding and urban heat impacts at the same time 🌳 Explore nature-based solutions in real time 🌍 Build stronger business cases to mobilise investment The tool can be used in both data-rich cities and emerging economies, helping significantly speed up the impact analysis. “When you combine a clear climate vision with a strong business case, you improve your chances of attracting investment into nature-based solutions,” says Christian Nyerup Nielsen, Global Division Director, Climate Resilience, Ramboll. Funded by a grant from the Rambøll Fonden / Ramboll Foundation, the tool and our collaboration support the UN Global Cooling Pledge, the world’s first collective commitment to cut cooling-related emissions by 68 percent and expand access to sustainable cooling by 2050. Thank you to UN Environment Programme, the COP30 Brazil, C40 Cities, and our partner in the city councils of Copenhagen and New York for bringing momentum to this milestone. • 'The Future of Stations’ was the focus of this year’s Early Careers Design Challenge, in collaboration with Transport for London, aiming to improve accessibility at two London Underground stations by innovating and developing new ideas.       The challenge gives the opportunity for our bright young minds in the business to think big on real industry challenges and present their solutions in front of some of our key clients. Together, they have taken a deep dive into accessibility to explore what stations of the future need to deliver from a fresh perspective.      Colin Light, Global Sector Lead for Stations and Depots, commented: "It has been a pleasure to join TfL for the finals day judging. The standard is always very high, and this year is no exception. "The teams presented some great ideas in a clear and engaging way, getting to the heart of our clients' challenges of improving accessibility and passenger experience. Well done to them all."      At Ramboll, we believe that public transport should be accessible to all - embedding inclusive design in transport systems is imperative.       We provide expert advice to enhance the travel experience for those with mobility or sensory impairments. This benefits all passengers by creating a smoother, safer, and more reliable transportation system.       Together, we must strive to transform our infrastructure for a more accessible future where everyone can travel independently.    Discover more about our expertise in transforming rail systems across Europe https://lnkd.in/e7ErVGbA #Rail #Infrastructure #Accessibility #LetsCloseTheGap #PartnerForSustainableChange #ResilientSocieties
