Our fourth Sydney Vine of the year was hosted by Cox Architecture in their beautiful Sydney studio, with stunning harbour views. The evening was beautifully captured by photographer Isabella Healion and we’ve made a little video with some of our favourite pics. Thanks to the mentors from Cox, BVN Architecture, Hassell, fjcstudio, Woods Bagot and MCK Architecture & Interiors, who were generous with their time, advice and experience. Thanks once again to the fantastic team who make The Vine happen in Sydney – Claire Oh , Coco Chen , Sylvia Lu and Jun Seong Park. The full program of The Vine is supported by our Parlour Partner Bespoke Careers – and we are very grateful for their support! #thevine #speedmentoring #connection

Go Lauren Jeans, our wonderful Parlour Annexe coordinator! 👏 👏
Allow us to introduce GGA's ELEVATING DESIGNERS! A short series that gives you a closer look at some of the talented individuals at GGA. Working across GGA's broad range of sectors including, education, residential, multi-res, social justice, heritage, health, commercial, hospitality, cultural + civic and urban planning projects, these Senior Architects bring inspiring energy and creativity to our team. Today we’re spotlighting three imaginative minds helping to shape GGA’s diverse projects and collaborative culture - Zachary Lovell, Lauren Jeans and Raymond Huang (slide one left to right - Zac, Lauren, Raymond). From broad conceptual thinking to meticulous detailing and explorations beyond the obvious solution, Zac, Lauren and Raymond offer a fresh viewpoint, creative energy, and an inquisitive, thoughtful approach. Their contribution across concept development, technical resolution and daily challenges enriches the depth of our team. We asked them a few questions to get a glimpse into what drives these emerging designers - swipe through to see what they had to say! Stay tuned for more in this series!

“Ambition looks different depending on where you come from. What one culture celebrates as ambition might be misunderstood or even invisible in another.” We got a lot of interest in this quote from Zamaneh Khoshdel when we posted it on Instagram last week. Now we are thrilled to republish the full piece that Zamaneh wrote for the Multicultural Association of Property Professionals (MAPP) Inc. Slide for more extensive quotes from Zamaneh and head to the Parlour website to read the full piece – https://lnkd.in/gijNBgHu And book for On the Verandah tomorrow, a fascinating conversation on multicultural leadership and advocacy with Zamaneh, Farah Farouque, Debjani Sarkar and Lameesa Yousuf – https://lnkd.in/g4xDnpHz We are very lucky to have these amazing speakers – Zamaneh is a co-founder of the Multicultural Association of Property Professionals and Farah has a background in advocacy, strategy and journalism and is now CEO of the Ethnic Communities' Council of Victoria. Established in 1974, this is Victoria’s peak body for migrant and refugee communities. Remember, if you are in a tough financial situation get in touch at hello@parlour.org.au – we are happy to give comp tickets for this important conversation.

Tomorrow, online, lunchtime! Join us for our final On the Verandah session for the year – and this one’s going to be fantastic. We have Zamaneh Khoshdel, co-founder of the Multicultural Association of Property Professionals (MAPP) Inc.; and Farah Farouque, CEO of the Ethnic Communities' Council of Victoria joining Debjani Sarkar and Lameesa Yousuf to chat about leadership and advocacy. So, representatives of one very new organisation and one founded in 1974! We are keen to talk about the roles of representative bodies in making change and organising for collective action. We will explore the value of data and research in advocacy. We will discuss the importance of having people from diverse backgrounds in leadership positions – and strategies to accelerate this. This is an excellent opportunity to expand conversations beyond architecture, and to learn from those advocating in the sector, and the community more broadly. Join us – https://lnkd.in/g4xDnpHz

Many thanks to Ainsley Ryan and the Built Environment Channel for your ongoing support, and to everyone who has shared their experiences, advice and guidance in shaping the Sustainable Hours guide.
What does sustainable hours look like? Last week's Parlour Inc: gender, equity, architecture Talk on Sustainable Hours spoke about studios' approaches to managing hours around deadlines, workloads, roles, and responsibilities at the team and individual levels. Rather than framing it as 'long hours', 'sustainable hours' refer to maintaining workloads that fluctuate with life's realities. It also marked the publication of the Parlour Guide to Sustainable Hours. Congratulations to Justine Clark, Susie Ashworth, Alison McFadyen and everyone involved in bringing this to life. Take a look: https://lnkd.in/gUgm3sdJ
