CBT is working nationally and internationally on projects that range from urban district master planning to large-scale mixed-use developments, civic and cultural venues, future-ready workplace interiors, and campus planning and design. Based in Boston, we have 230 architects, urban planners, interior designers and other design professionals working together to deliver unique solutions that respond directly to our clients’ needs. Each commission brings with it a unique set of issues and specific requirements that form the parameters of our design vision and influence our creative direction. The result: customized planning, interior design and architectural solutions that are innovative, timeless, sustainable, functional and beautiful.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Women's Leadership Summit can feel like drinking from a firehose. The event draws hundreds of AEC Design professionals (not ALL women!) and curates a whirlwind schedule of fun, education, and inspiration. Industry luminaries bid for conflicting timeslots to share their invaluable insights; if I could clone myself and sit in every session, I would in a heartbeat. It can feel challenging to drag yourself away from the business of the everyday, but every time I step away and use AIAWLS to reflect on my career, values, and how to use my voice, I always return re-invigorated and full of gratitude. This was my first time being selected as speaker for WLS, which forced an extra level of preparation and forethought prior to flying down to Atlanta. Extra thanks to our Boston Society for Architecture extended family for always bringing the fun! Our 'Special Event' combined rapid fire presentations, panel discussion, and facilitated roundtables all into a single workshop. The logistics were daunting and I owe a debt of gratitude to Gemma Devesa Gasco and Kirsten Swanson for sorting out the logistics in advance and keeping the trains on time. The powerhouse panel shared great insights to a sizeable group of highly-engaged attendees--impressive considering it was the very final event of the three-day Summit! The panelists--Devanshi Purohit, AICP, Jenny Scarborough, Kerry Nolan, AIA, LEED AP, Belinda Sanchez, and moderator Vivian W. Lee FAIA--shared strategies for establishing and sustaining WIA/WID groups and committees, along with navigating challenges such as engagement, programming, and resource planning. They touched on key topics such as programming best practices, group structure and scaling, resource planning, funding, and inclusive engagement strategies. Everyone left with practical tools, fresh ideas, and renewed inspiration to strengthen or launch WIA/WID efforts in their firm, chapter, and community. The workshop finale sought to infuse a jolt of celebratory inspiration. Tizziana Maria Baldenebro from the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation (BWAF) and myself both presented on behalf of our respective "Built by Women" mapping initiatives. I got to share our story of how strong WiD organizations can combine forces to expand their reach and achieve great things. You can learn more about CBT Architects and CannonDesign Boston's Built by Women map here: https://lnkd.in/eNVddN3S. When it comes to professional conferences, AIAWLS stands apart. It’s a unique sort of experience where you simultaneously make valuable connections and accelerate your professional growth, but you can also be 100% relaxed, sincere, and authentically yourself. And to the City of Atlanta: I wasn't aware that it was on my bucket list, but now I can always say that I got to have a glass of wine with a beluga whale. #WLS2025 #AIAWLS #WomenInArchitecture #cbtArchitects #cbtWiD
